Rep. Charles Sargent (R-61) and Sen. Jack Johnson (R-23) filed HB0165/SB0248 which would establish that the Tennessee Regulatory Authority may regulate a non-utility following the sale or lease to the nonutility by the public utility if, 1) a complaint is filed with the attorney general and reporter or the division of consumer affairs of commerce and insurance, and pursuant to an investigation being conducted by such officials based on the complaint filed, the investigation concludes that the services of the non-utility violate current statutes by being unsafe, unjust, or discriminatory.
